About the Class
*Please Note: This class runs for the entire Dance Year, divided into 3 Sessions: Fall 2019, Winter, Spring 2020 Each Session has a "Focus" and will enable the dancer to continue learning and progressing throughout the Dance Year.
This class is invited to perform in our 18th Annual Recital, "The JOY Of Dance!", near the end of our Spring Session, on Sunday, June 7th, 2020 at the BU Theatre, Boston. ***Please see our "Calendar of Events" for all rehearsals and "SAVE THE DATES!"***
For both safety and enjoyment, prior experience in Street, Hip-Hop or Breakin' is recommended.
Class may be allowed for first-timers and it is helpful if you are also attending one of Mr. Mac's Street Dance, Breakin' or Skillz classes during the same or prior session.
In this class, Mr. Mac will include the many aspects of Street Dance- ticking, popping, waving, strobing including the isolation of the body and much more. The moves and forms of Breakdance are added with an emphasis on form and safety. Dancers use leverage and body/ hand placement to work on all tricks, plants, freezes, power moves and more.
Then comes the O'graphy... Mr. Mac will craft a dance piece that will use elements of Hip-Hop & choreography without relying on the breakin' tricks and throw-down. This class is great for the seasoned BBoy & BGirl who are looking to bring their performance to the next level while improving their personal performance style, muscle memory, choreographic memory and musicality.
This class is perfect on its own or paired with any of our Street Dance, Hip-Hop or Breakin' Classes.
